On the mornings of 21–22 April 2025, the air in Kuala Lumpur carried more than just the buzz of city life — it carried intention. Inside a room filled with thinkers, creators, and cultural gatekeepers, something meaningful was unfolding: the Heritage Tourism Product Planning Workshop, a two-day initiative to reimagine the future of KL’s tourism through its heritage.
Nova Network was honored to be among those invited to the table — and even more honored to contribute.
The workshop was graced by YBhg. Dato’ Seri TPr (Dr.) Maimunah binti Mohd Sharif, the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, whose presence set the tone for what would become an inspiring and collaborative journey.
🌆 A City With Stories Still Untold
Around us sat directors and officers from bodies like Tourism Malaysia, MOTAC, Jabatan Warisan Negara, JKKN, and Istana Budaya — each carrying with them deep experience and deep love for Kuala Lumpur’s cultural roots.
We exchanged ideas with voices from Kraftangan Malaysia, Islamic Tourism Centre, Masjid Negara, and Muzium Negara, as well as respected reps from MATTA, MAH, MITTA, BUMITRA, and other associations who live and breathe the travel experience daily.
From academics at UniKL and UCMI, to NGOs, tourism operators, and KL’s creative communities — every conversation had one clear focus:
How do we tell Kuala Lumpur’s story in a way that feels real, relevant, and unforgettable?
🎨 Nova’s Role: Designing Memory, Not Just Marketing
As a creative agency, Nova Network shared thoughts on how immersive experiences, digital storytelling, and creative branding can make culture come alive — especially for younger generations and global audiences.
We believe the past doesn’t belong in the past — it belongs in experiences that people can touch, see, hear, and feel. Whether through AR exhibitions, interactive archives, or culturally themed urban installations, KL’s heritage can be something living, playful, and proudly visible.
🤝 A Thank You From the Heart
To every participant, from heritage experts to hotel owners, curators to city planners — we saw firsthand how much heart goes into shaping this city.
And to Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur, and all strategic partners, thank you for letting Nova be part of this meaningful effort.
Together, we’re not just preserving stories.
We’re preparing them for the next chapter.
📍 Let’s continue designing the future — one story at a time.
